Veinte de Agusto is Spanish for August 20. Tucson birth is August 20, 1775. This park is closed but not permanently. The closure is a ploy by the city to curb the homeless problem by denying them access. Also to counter the "Occupy Tucson" movement of 2011. They had taken the park over and made it something to avoid. This trick of law just harms all citizens. I wanted to take a photo of the statue of Pancho Villa but didn't want to be charged with tresspass.
