Matt a month agoBeautiful, peaceful, and scenic loop trail. Very easy and slightly over a mile and a half. A great day-to-day hiking gem for those who seek a lush and dense greenery. 14 parking spaces and a restroom available in the parking lot. Beware of ticks and posion oak and wear comfortable long pants or long shorts. The restroom doesn't have any running water though, only some sanitizer.
Oakland Boy 2 months agoSo this is a great place for people who like narrow trails. Lots of wildlife and I like how they label the fauna. If you go left at the parking lot you will get an amazing view and its a very short hike. If you go right you will get narrow trails and all the wonder that is this place.
Paul Wang 5 months agoI visited Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve for the first time while heading back from sightseeing on top of the Oakland Hills. The park is very well maintained, with a good amount of parking, clear signs, and helpful maps at the trailheads. I still managed to take a wrong turn at first and didn’t get on the main botanic trail right away, but exploring the area was still enjoyable. The vegetation is beautiful and the whole place has a calm, natural mood. Walking among the trees and native plants felt peaceful and refreshing. If you go down the Skyline Trail, it will lead you into the Botanic Preserve area. I learned that after wandering a bit! Next time I’ll follow the map more carefully, but overall it was a very nice visit and a great place to slow down and enjoy nature.
Damon Tighe 5 months agoOne of my favorite parks in the east bay due to the diversity of plants and moisture traps even in the summer months. Some views to the east, but no views of the bay like other parks on the ridge (Redwood, Sibley, Tilden etc).
Rosanna Mendoza 4 months agoBeautiful felt like spring day full of butterflies, ladybugs, & hummingbirds flying around. Flowers just starting to bloom
