What a great park to walk around and relax while visiting the State Capitol. A large green space with lots of benches to sit on and relax. The trees on the property are huge and provide lots of shade. Construction was still going on so parts of the garden were off limits. We found the location of the replica Liberty Bell, however it was missing.

Beautiful grassy area with big Beautiful trees and The California Capital Building in the middle. Large very wide concrete area with a 3 or 4 steps right in front of the California Capital building. Great for viewing and photography.

Walked through Capitol Park this afternoon and found more than trees and gardens — groups of seniors gathering in the shade, sharing stories, laughter, and quiet moments together. In the middle of downtown Sacramento, this park still feels like a place where time slows down a little.

I wish I could have spent more time exploring this park. There are various gardens and memorials and provides a large green space for people to enjoy their days with a view of the state Capitol

Really beautiful place to walk around and relax. California State Capitol Park has gorgeous gardens, lots of unique trees, and well kept grounds. It’s peaceful and feels like a little escape right in the middle of downtown Sacramento. Perfect for an easy stroll and enjoying the scenery. Throughout the park you’ll see small signs on or near a lot of the unique or historic trees identifying the species...like their common name and scientific name. My favorite was the beautiful rose garden and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial which is located within the park grounds. It honors Californians who served in the Vietnam War and includes engraved names and a quiet, reflective design.
