Wendy M. 7 months agoFall Color + Public Art = A Perfect Farragut Square Stop I attended a public art walk hosted by Golden Triangle BID as part of the Umbrella Art Fair public art festival in. One of our stops was to Farragut Square to see The Living Lantern, a wooden kinetic sculpture that shifts with the wind and glows beautifully after dark. It feels completely different at night, and the movement gives it a calming, almost meditative energy. Farragut Square itself is surprisingly peaceful for such a busy part of DC. There’s plenty of seating, open space, and it’s just steps from the Metro. It’s a nice spot to explore even on a quick break. The park is clean and regularly maintained by staff wearing yellow jackets. A favorite moment? The stunning yellow Ginkgo tree in peak color. It won’t be long before the leaves fall, but it hints at how gorgeous this park must be throughout the fall season.
Patrick O. Lockhart a month agoWith entrances to the blue orange silver and redline metro stations across the street, this is probably the busiest park in downtown DC during the weekdays.
Karen L Rodriguez 2 months agoI went there for lunch. The weather was beautiful. It's a clean place with plenty of dining options nearby.
willku9000 a year agoThis square is honestly kinda peaceful when nobody’s in it. For years it’s either been filled with the less fortunate or being renovated, but now that it’s mostly empty it’s honestly kinda nice. Really dig the statue, despite not really knowing who it is. Definitely worth strolling through or maybe sitting down and having lunch at if you’re walking through or work in the area
Cristin Merker 5 months agoThis is a lovely park to visit and enjoy - there are often art installations, occasional events, and there are a lot of places to sit and eat, read a book, or simply enjoy the sunshine.
