Mickey Gabrielle 2 weeks agoIt was a beautiful day to be outside enjoying nature and the Arboretum was the perfect place to do so. I got to see beautiful plants, bonsai trees and garden all while getting my steps in! I also left with a new plant from one of the vendors!
Gina Ellison 3 months agoThe Arboretum was a really peaceful place to walk and explore. It’s not just one big view like the Tidal Basin—there are different trees and areas spread out, so you end up wandering and discovering things along the way. I loved how quiet it felt. You can take your time, stop often, and really look at the details...some of the best moments were just noticing small things up close. It is a lot of walking, so I wouldn’t plan to rush through it, but it’s definitely worth visiting if you want a calmer, more personal experience with the cherry blossoms.
Rob Stiles 3 months agoA great place to explore and experience nature in DC. We visited on a warm spring weekend, it can get pretty busy with families, tourists, and generally just people visiting. Cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The park is big with plenty of different sections. You can walk it, or easily drive around if needed. There are plenty of various parking spots. Dogs are allowed and ours had a ball, plenty of places for them to explore. I'm particularly partial to the Anacostia river-walk area at the bottom of the Asian exhibit area. Just make sure you respect the hours that the entry gates are locked.
Rachel Barker 2 months agoIt’s Azalea blossom season in April, so we visited the Hamilton Hill Azalea Collection and spent the entire day there. Despite the large number of visitors, the national arboretum is spacious enough to accommodate thousands. I know of at least two parking lots: one near the entrance and another in the back. There are many different types of azaleas, with most displaying beautiful colors. Let the pictures tell the story!
BDH a month agoThe U.S. National Arboretum is a lovely place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The bonsai garden is not only serene but also houses a 400+ year old magnificent bonsai. I loved the smell of the roses and the playlist accompanying the plants in the Rock Garden. Take advantage of the free parking!
