Jasmine Barnhill 2 months agoVery beautiful. There is a restaurant/ ice cream place right next to the park you don't have to walk but 50ft if that. They also have a waterfront view. Absolutely beautiful and worth it. People are pretty polite.
Wade McCain 7 months agoGrew up here, nice to see it's still standing lol. Unfortunately the pier is still closed and the monkey bars on the playground are gone. But still a good park. I was here about a year and a half ago when it was still open, sad to see the bridge closed. I hope it gets fixed up for the future 🙏
Francisco Diaz 6 months agoBallast Point Park is truly a hidden gem. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it’s always been a peaceful, well-kept park with beautiful waterfront views. There are great spots to sit and relax, a nice playground, and normally an awesome fishing pier that really makes this place special. The only downside right now is that the pier has been closed for a long time, and the delay in reopening it has been frustrating. Once that’s taken care of, this park will easily be back to a full five stars. Still a great place to unwind and enjoy Tampa’s waterfront.
A F 7 months agoGreat place to bring young children and a nice place for adults to take in the gorgeous skyline and panoramic views that few places in this area offer either for free or via easy access. The park is always relatively clean, and the parking lots are easily accessible and there is one on each side of the park. The park rangers have been seen frequenting the area which is always a relief to know it's being attended to properly and gives a bit of a feeling of safety. There's rarely any unusual folks present or loiters who look out of place. If there ever is, it's maybe 1 odd person in the gazebo smoking black milds or some other disgusting smelling thing, which I'm sure can be rectified if I contacted the park rangers or other official. (And next time I will because I bring children here so they're not exposed to society's diseases whether mental or physical or addictive.. so whoever thinks smoking is acceptable, think again! And go smoke in your car. No one wants to smell that crap!) Otherwise, park is very nice. Adults seem to be respectable and expect children to be respectful and are attentive to their kids. It's not one of those drive by drop off places where you see parents just leaving their ill behaved kids in vicinity of other adults and parents to deal with while they go shopping nearby etc. It's a 25 min drive from me and plenty of parks are closer but i keep coming back to this one. I've seen even sharing amongst parents with scooters, balls etc which was very nice to see. Most children are toddlers below 1 yo or up to 4 or 5 at most. Rarely see much older kids. (Also a huge plus for people with smaller kids!)
