Kim Nichols a month agoVery clean, inviting, and spacious room to be in a group or relaxing on your own. Easy drive access to a number of picnic and playground areas. Drive eventually leads to a gorgeous nature preserve where you can observe lots of different animals and learn from the different stations inside. Numerous easy walking and riding paths, mostly paved and comfortable for leisure walking or cardio exercises should you prefer to pick up the pace a little bit.
Himal Gyawali 4 weeks agoNatural park with nice hiking trails. The free canopy walk offers beautiful forest views, though it is a bit short. There are also a few activities for children, making it a good family-friendly spot. Overall, a good place to enjoy nature and spend a relaxing couple of hours.
Amber Easom 3 months agoWe had a great day here at Blacklick woods. If you are going for the canopy walk don't turn into the first parking lot. The first lot has picnic areas, playground, fitness area, and the start of the multi use trail. Also a bike fixing station. The same with the second parking lot. Drive down to the nature center to find the canopy walk. We started there and then entered the nature center, it was small but not too crowded. There were 2 bird viewing areas, a puppet show area, a play area above that and a few frogs, snakes, and turtles. Also you will find a single bathroom in the classroom area of the nature center. They have events all month and it's posted on the board as you walk in. My son got to enjoy roasting marshmallows and having a s'more outside at the fire pit (the days activity). There's also a natural playground right there. Next we took a walk on the boardwalk trail. I cannot think of the trail name but it starts outside of the nature center. There are 2 trail options once you start down the entrance. We went left to continue on the boardwalk/wetlands. There are restrooms at the park lot of the nature center/ canopy walk. The canopy walk is a must do. If you can't or don't want to take the stairs I have good news....they have an elevator!!! The canopy walk has a play/climbing area and if you don't want to cross the ropes you don't have to. The boardwalk goes all the way around. I also noticed several options to sit and take a break or enjoy the view. Bring a picnic and come enjoy all Blacklick has to offer as Ohio's first Metro Park! This place is great 😊
Amanda Aubrey a month agoReally pretty and big Metro Park. As someone coming from Dayton, it would have been nice to know you don't allow dogs on the trails, just the multipurpose trail. We would have left him at home had we known to explore more. It's such a weird thing since all our trails in Dayton are open to dogs on leases. Other then that this is a very pretty and populated park. Lots of options for walking, hiking, biking, running, birdwatching, picnics, and play. The Canopy Walk inside this park is pretty cool to see too.
Ray 3 weeks agocame here on a whim. didnt stay very long but liked what i saw. the canopy walk is especially cool, and it's great that it and all the trails are ADA compliant. wasnt terribly busy when i came (9:30am) but it started to pick up by the time I left (10:30am).
