Sol T 6 months agoGreat Philly park with the iconic Love statue which is frequented by tourist for a photo op. It's a small park but there's always something happening that caters to all people, for instance during the summer the fountains are running for the children to play and cool off. Also during the summer on Fridays there's salsa music, in effect the park converts to an outdoor dance floor. During the winter the park (along with City Hall) converts into a holiday wonderland with an array of vendors. The location is great in that it's across the street from our historic City Hall and on the road towards the parkway that ends with the Philadelphia Art Museum.
Adam Azim a month agoAnd yes, I’ve been to Philly as well. Walked across the whole city as a matter of fact. Even had a cheesesteak at Pat’s and Geno’s (overrated). Would I ever go back voluntarily? Probably not. Why not spend that time and those resources on another trip to New York for perhaps a homecoming of sorts?
Ken F 6 months agoIt's an easily walkable park and accessible from Chestnut, the convention center, city hall, Chinatown, etc. There is plenty of parking via its own parking garage, street parking, or one of the many parking garages nearby. If you're shopping in the city, this is a great place to stop by. This is especially true during the holidays when the Christmas markets take place.
Catrya Young 4 months agoGood stuff…Lots of seating. The red metal lawn chairs are comfortable on the back but low. There’s wood bench’s too-no back though. The Robert Indiana is iconic and great for pics. We saw several groups/lines taking pictures but no crowds-it’s early spring so I imagine it’s busier in the summer. There’s a large paved area with lighting.
The Arts 8 months ago❤️ Love Park (John F. Kennedy Plaza) Love Park—officially named the John F. Kennedy Plaza and designed by Edmund Bacon—sits at the heart of Philadelphia and features Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE sculpture. The contemporary piece, with its bold typographic design, is a reproduction of the original sculpture housed at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. I’ve always appreciated this sculpture for its character, concept, and playfulness. The precise arrangement of the letters, the unifying geometric forms, and the tilted “O” create a striking graphic presence. Its visual power often makes people think the sculpture is larger than it really is. The installation is beautifully executed. The LOVE sculpture sits atop an open metal base that allows it to feel both elevated and seamlessly integrated into the landscape. At the center of the park, a large fountain with an illuminated jet spray provides a dramatic backdrop—adding both movement and a refreshing atmosphere. The park itself is welcoming, with green lawns, flowerbeds, built-in benches, picnic tables, cafe-style seating and walking paths. It’s a perfect place to pause, relax, and take in the urban energy of Philadelphia. ❤️ LOVE PARK HIGHLIGHTS • Free Admission: Outdoor park, no reservations required • Hours: Open daily, 7 a.m.–10 p.m. • Accessibility: Wheelchair-accessible paths and restrooms • Family & Dog Friendly: Great spot for visitors of all ages • Photo Opportunities: Iconic backdrop for memorable pictures • Location: Across from City Hall and Dilworth Park; near the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Franklin Institute • Seasonal Events: Hosts the annual Christmas Village in November and December, featuring festive lights, gifts, and local vendors
