One of the nicest parks in the nicest neighborhoods in Bakersfield. Great playground equipment, bathrooms and a gazebo for events. Big field on the north side And mature trees all around.

The city has cut back on watering the grass areas during drought and the park is very dry throughout. The park has the basketball courts and playgrounds of (slides, swings), and covered picnic areas. Parking is all street only, no parking lot which makes it difficult for food delivery to picnic areas, even though there are walkways to them.

Good local park. It is certainly showing its old age. The playground can perhaps use some refurbishment. Otherwise my kids do enjoy going here. There are plenty of trees around for shade for those who like to do a little bit of picnic.

Disappointing. No deer in sight. I purchased 50 lbs in deer feed and camped out several mornings. What do I do with all this deer feed? Also, ever notice 95% of people walk counter-clockwise around the park? My theory is that it's related to the fact we drive on the right-side of the road. People feed into the park from the side streets and naturally keep right. If true, people from countries who drive on the left-side of the road should naturally walk clockwise around the park, unless they've grown accustomed to driving on the right. And if you grew up in the U.S. and walk clockwise around the park, there's a possibility you just ain't normal.

Renovating the playground, not that it was needed, as expected in the neighborhood. No playgrounds in lower income areas are getting new playgrounds, even if desperately needed. Local security company acts like its private property, unless outnumbered, but they are easily ignored.
