De Fremery park is SUCH a beautiful park.. I honestly really wish I had discovered it years ago. It is such a beautiful and pleasant place, and definitely doesn't seem like a hidden treasure you would find in Oakland but, it is literally just that - a hidden treasure. It is very clearly well-managed by Oakland Parks and Rec, there are plenty of options on how to entertain yourself at this park. I absolutely LOVE the awesome skate park, as well as the tennis courts. I also love the size of the children's playground. Just an awesome place, and if I am back in Oakland anytime soon, I am definitely going to get lost in this park for HOURS, because it looks like a very pleasant place where you can make some really great memories.

I'm 71 and I played in this park until I was 14. When I was 6 and older there was this thing that kids would hold on to run real fast and jump on it. I would swear it was 50 kids or more...this was in the 50's and early 60's. My siblings and I would go swimming and our great uncle would be near the men at the picnic tables taking a shot and giving us change for the snow cone truck. At 15 no more parks for me and my family lived on 37th and Webster across from Moss wood. I will always love this park . precious family memories. The baseball field is gone. Today so many White People at the Park. When I was growing up all Black hard working folks. Our visit today was for Patricia Lowe..Queen of Line dancing..

An area asset. Historical importance can't be understated. I met in the old house building just yesterday to action against unjust coal plans in Oakland. The legacy of protest is alive, but we should haveadw more progress. Don't forget the history or the struggle.

Nice playground, mature shade trees. Beautiful neighborhood Park. I came for the skatepark. Ripstikin. The concrete elements were very fun. I love the DIY spirit of the wooden elements but they are in need of maintenance which makes them dangerous.
