A must see for Full House fans. It was fun to visit for some nostalgia. Alamo park is really quite pretty and well maintained. We visited in Feb 2026 and there were still some flowers out. It’s very popular (but not crowded) as we saw lots of others taking photos of the views & houses. A nice place to take in the view surrounded by some gorgeous Victorian homes. Easy to get to by public bus.

This is the park that is surrounded by the painted ladies as well as so many more Victorian homes that have been painstakingly restored. Be prepared though, the trails have very steep grades and can be a challenge to navigate.

Alamo Square Park is a peaceful, scenic spot that offers one of the most iconic views in San Francisco—the famous Painted Ladies with the city skyline in the background. We visited as a family and really enjoyed sitting on the grassy slope, taking photos, and letting our daughter explore the playground. ✅ Pros: • Stunning, postcard-worthy views • Clean and well-maintained green space • Playground for kids and plenty of seating • Dog-friendly and perfect for picnics • Great spot for photography and relaxing ❌ Cons: • Limited street parking nearby—can be tough during peak hours • Can get crowded on weekends, especially with tour buses • Not much shade in certain areas—bring a hat or sunscreen Tip: Visit in the late afternoon for the best photo lighting and a quieter vibe. It’s a must-see for first-time visitors to San Francisco!
