Jackson Square served as a "hub" for our trip. On several days, we started here and branched off in different directions for various siteseeing activities. I would definitely recommend getting a beignet and relaxing for a bit on a bench near Jackson's statue. I loved the street performers, artists and local vendors that contributed to a unique atmosphere. This continues to stand out vividly when I think about New Orleans after returning home. Leave some time for stepping into the cathedral to look at the stained glass, art, and architecture. We explored the museums on both sides of the cathedral and the cathedral itself.

Jackson Square is truly worth visiting when you are in New Orleans. It is beautiful and picturesque. There are usually local artist outside of the square. The St. Louis Cathedral was originally built in 1724 overlooks beautiful Jackson Square and was dedicated in 1794. It was rebuilt twice after a hurricane and a fire. The river directly across from Jackson Square in the French Quarter of New Orleans is the Mississippi River

This was my first time in New Orleans, Louisiana, and I wanted to take it off my pocket list while driving from Jackson, Mississippi, to Gulf Shores. I arrived at 1 pm and walked in the lovely French Quarter, which is the city’s historic heart, famous for its vibrant nightlife and colorful buildings with cast-iron balconies. Crowd-pleasing Bourbon Street features jazz clubs, Cajun eateries, and loud bars serving strong cocktails. Quieter streets lead to the French Market, with gourmet food and local crafts, and to Jackson Square, where street performers entertain in front of the soaring St. Louis Cathedral. I was so amazed by the beauty of this place. I did not know such a place existed in the U.S. It reminded me of The Hague in the Netherlands. Live performances, Middle Eastern-type bazaar vibes, so much art, including murals everywhere, and the amazing structure of the old-style buildings with lovely decorations everywhere, and friendly people.

Cool little square located in the middle of everything . Cafe Du Monde near by French Market couple blocks away. The street musican were cool to watch. It was nice to visit at sun down less crowded at that time.
